Saint Anthony Main

Northeast Minneapolis

St. Anthony Main is a collection of buildings dating back to the 1850s when the Village of St. Anthony was still separate from Minneapolis. While it features high ceilings, incredible views, and exposed brick, stone and timber, the interior remained in the dark. Element set out to demo and refurbish the office space.

Their plan, however, changed when they realized an existing 3rd floor space was preventing them from opening up the second floor office to a mezzanine above that would bring in natural light. Still determined, Element drove the project forward by negotiating with the 3rd floor tenant. The team worked to reorient the existing business, providing a new entrance just off the skyway and a balcony off the back of the space. The reorientation of the 3rd floor tenant created more space and opportunity to open the two story office and bring in more natural light, creating a vibrant creative office. This project brought new energy to not only the space, but to the overall building, impacting common corridors and the value of the building
