The wait for Francis is over. The crew behind the former food truck concept opens their brick-and-mortar Northeast eatery on January 9th. For the past year or so, Francis operated as an entirely vegan, plant-based food truck, featuring delectable burgers. Parked at Sociable Cider Werks from 2021-2022 as part of their rotating culinary series, Francis developed quite the following, for vegans and omnivores alike.

Now up and running, Francis has expanded their menu at the Northeast location, including more plant-based burger options, crispy fries, “chicken” sandwiches and nuggets. In addition, they serve cocktails, local beers, and non-alcoholic options. A popular Francis menu feature are the large number of homemade sauces, highlighted by the Francy Sauce, "like 1000 island but FRANCIER!"

The roomy space features a full service bar with funky chairs and an iconic "Killer Burgers" neon sign adorning the area next to the doorway. The bar area is comforting and encourages mingling, while the dining room is open and bright, ideal for groups and couples looking to comfortably snag some awesome plant-based fare. Francis wants to be a gathering place for everyone, not just vegans and vegetarians. They also plan to operate later than most options in the area, namely for service industry workers who have a place to go after a long night at work.

Element's Aaron Meyers worked with the Francis team to help secure the new buzzy location at 2422 Central Avenue NE. Francis is excited for the future and can't wait to welcome you into their new space. And don't be fooled; these ARE killer burgers: a soft, toasted brioche bun, melty cheese, and a perfectly cooked patty with a side of crispy fries. Pretty francy and certainly delicious.

Francis is open daily for lunch and dinner, closing at 10pm during the week and midnight on the weekends.
