The Coven Northeast Opens Its Doors in Nordøst Exchange

We’re thrilled to share that The Coven Northeast is officially open! Located at Suite 200 of Nordøst Exchange, a creative modern adaptive reuse building at 2125 E Hennepin Avenue, this marks the seventh location for The Coven, and a bold new chapter for a workspace brand rooted in inclusivity, creativity, and connection.

When Lisa Mangelsdorf, a retired international educator with a passion for community building, set out to open the next Coven franchise, she partnered with Element’s JoAnna Hicks to bring her vision to life. Having spent 30 years teaching and raising her family across four countries, Lisa knows how meaningful it is to find places where people feel they belong—and that’s exactly what she set out to create in her own community.

Together, Lisa and JoAnna searched across the Twin Cities for the right building to house this vision. What started as a search in the southwest metro soon shifted to Northeast Minneapolis, where the spaces, vibe, and community felt just right. When they toured the corner space at Nordost Exchange—with its exposed beams, warm brick walls, natural light (and free parking lot!)—it was clear this was the one.

From there, an incredible team came together to bring the vision to life—seamlessly blending openness with privacy in a thoughtfully designed space featuring 12 private offices, a 20-person conference room, a fitness area, kitchen, and outdoor patio. Anderson CC led construction as general contractor, while Erinn Farrell Design infused the interiors with The Coven’s signature warmth, color, and style. Remarkably, the project wrapped ahead of schedule and was celebrated with a joyful grand opening and ribbon cutting in June 2025.

Held on National Loving Day (June 12), the event was full of energy, joy, and meaning. As Lisa shared with the crowd, the date commemorates a historic Supreme Court decision that reinforced love, diversity, and equality—a fitting parallel to the heart that built this space.
