Element is proud to celebrate the completion of Opportunity Crossing, a transformative six-story development led by Project for Pride in Living (PPL), a nonprofit dedicated to building the hope, assets, and self-reliance of individuals and families through housing, employment, and career readiness.
As owner’s representative for PPL, Element guided the project team through completion, managing coordination between the architect, contractor, and dozens of funding sources to ensure alignment, accountability, and long-term success.
Located at the site of a former Wells Fargo branch that was destroyed during the unrest following George Floyd’s murder, Opportunity Crossing now stands as a symbol of resilience, renewal, and community healing. The project includes 110 affordable housing units—the largest in PPL’s history—and four commercial condos, including a new Wells Fargo branch and three additional spaces that will be owned by BIPOC business owners, advancing long-term community wealth and entrepreneurship.
Designed by Design by Melo and built by Weis Builders, the project also features a community room, outdoor plaza, playground, and underground parking, with geothermal energy and rainwater management systems supporting environmental sustainability and reduced operating costs.
PPL hosted a celebration and their 2025 fall fundraiser "Under Our Roof" at Opportunity Crossing, inviting community members, partners, and supporters to tour the new space and experience firsthand the impact this project will have for generations to come.
Element is honored to have played a role in bringing this vision to life—helping PPL advance their mission to create housing stability, economic opportunity, and community strength across the Twin Cities.
